Plastics have only been mass-produced since around 1950. Even so, it’s hard to imagine a world without plastic packaging. Just how much plastic has ever been produced? A staggering 18 trillion pounds. While we can’t undo that production, we can limit more plastic from being made and ending up in our oceans.
